How to read it

Read beside the overdue share rather than on its own. The share falls when arrears shrink and when the book grows, and a fast-growing book is mostly loans too young to have defaulted. So a falling share alongside double-digit growth may partly reflect the denominator rising; the two are not exclusive, and repayment can improve while the book grows. The amount of overdue roubles, shown beside the share, is what separates them.

How it is measured

Nominal year-on-year growth of household loans outstanding, all currencies. Nominal and all-currency because that is the stock in the denominator of the overdue share; a deflated or rouble-only series would describe a different quantity.
